KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Aug. 24, 2020—TechAccel LLC, the private venture development organization investing in scientific breakthroughs to help solve the global food crisis, today announced that Brett Morris, CFA®, is named Vice President and Director of Investments.
Morris has been with TechAccel since 2016, most recently serving as Principal, Investment Manager. Prior to TechAccel, he worked in corporate development and strategy in the agriculture, animal feed, and energy industries. He helped source, evaluate, and execute mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, and joint ventures, and led efforts to assess startups across the agriculture technology landscape.

In June, Morris led the successful acquisition of RNAgri assets, which resulted in an expansion of RNAissance Ag’s capabilities, staffing and product lines. Morris also oversees TechAccel’s portfolio of assets across animal health, agriculture and food science industries. He is a partner and board member of Covenant Animal Health Partners, a TechAccel subsidiary creating revenue-ready products for the animal health industry.
Morris represents TechAccel as a board observer to Sound Agriculture. He also serves as a selection/screening committee member for InvestMidwest, the Animal Health Investment Forum, and ECJC’s Fountain Innovation Fund, and as a mentor for the Techstars Farm-to-Fork and Sprint/DFA Accelerator programs. He sits on the Emerging Leaders Council Board for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City and serves as an Advisory Board Member and guest lecturer for the Blue Valley CAPS program. Brett was a member of the Kansas City Business Journal’s 2019 class of Next Gen Leaders.
Morris graduated from the University of Kansas and is a CFA® charterholder. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Kansas City CFA Society.
