Leo Morton is the President and Chief Operations Officer of DeBruce Companies of Kansas City, a position he has held since 2017. The DeBruce Companies is is a single family office managing a diverse investment portfolio of Paul DeBruce, founder and former CEO of DeBruce Grain, Inc.
Prior to joining DeBruce, Morton was the Chancellor of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In this role, he served as the chief executive officer for the University with a budget of $320 million, 3,900 employees, 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students, twelve academic units (including four professional schools) on two campuses.
Earlier, Morton served for 14 years with Aquila Inc., culminating in a role as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. He also held leadership positions at AT&T Microelectronics, and worked in various roles at AT&T Bell Labs, Corning Glass Rust Engineering and GM.
Morton has a Master's of Science Degree in Management from the Massachussetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tuskegee University.
Morton serves of the board of several non-profits and community organizations.
