Science Advancement Manager Consultant

Katie Murphy joined TechAccel as an intern in 2019 through the UC Davis Innovation Institute for Food and Health’s Graduate Innovator Fellowship, and now works as consultant as she completes her graduate studies. Katie’s graduate research focuses on plant biochemistry, and how corn (maize) produces metabolites in response to drought and disease.

Katie is passionate about innovation, especially bringing university research to farmer’s fields. She enjoys translating and communication science to a broader audience. She actively serves in several leadership and volunteer roles for the American Society of Plant Biologists, where she works toward advancing women in the field.
