Position Summary:
TechAccel LLC (Technology Acceleration Partners) is a private capital firm that acquires, invests in, and advances early-stage technologies in the agriculture and food technology sectors.

TechAccel sources high-risk and game-changing technology from academic researchers and start-ups in targeted agriculture, animal health and food technology sectors. After thorough vetting of the science, TechAccel invests in high-impact innovation and technology with potential for sizeable markets. Our science advancement efforts prepare nascent technology for acquisition by industry strategics or go-to-market partners.
TechAccel’s dynamic growth is based on the premise that collaboration is the engine of success. The Senior Accountant will become part of a team of experts driving business growth through game-changing science advancement. TechAccel has completed two exits and currently has a portfolio of 40-plus assets in various stages of market commercialization, a subsidiary and two joint ventures.
The Senior Accountant position at TechAccel’s headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas, reports directly to TechAccel’s Chief Enterprise Officer and is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, cash forecasting, accounts payable and payroll. The Senior Accountant will also work closely with the project management and science teams to support lab operations.
Responsibilities:
• Complete monthly financial close process
• Responsible for full cycle accounts payable and payroll processing
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, operational and cash flow projections
• Perform variance analysis on monthly P&L (budget v actual – year over year and month over month)
• Compile the financial package distributed to the Chief Enterprise Officer and the Board of Directors
• Support annual financial review process by preparing schedules and reviewing accounts for accuracy
• Maintain a positive and ethical work climate
• Identify and assess mitigation efforts of financial risks of the Corporation's business operations
• Perform other functions as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
• BS/BA in finance or accounting
• 2+ years of proven experience in accounting
• Deep understanding of and proven competency in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Demonstrable competency in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and monitoring
• Outstanding organizational and management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required to clearly explain complex issues
• Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
• Highly self-motivated, proactive, flexible, able to follow through, and can work under pressure with associated deadlines
• Organized and detail oriented with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or accounting
• Understanding of agriculture and / or animal health markets and trends
• Passion for global sustainability, impact of emerging technologies and role of food and animals in a healthy future
