Bill’s work at TechAccel includes project management, partner management and business development. He is responsible for implementing methods and procedures that ensure TechAccel’s scientific advancement projects are delivered within their agreed-upon schedules and budgets. Prior to joining TechAccel, Bill held various positions in information technology, telecommunications, and scientific research industries.
Information Technology
Bill started his career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) as a programmer and systems analyst. At Andersen, Price Waterhouse, IBM and Ernst & Young, he continued to develop his skills as an analyst and project manager, specializing in the implementation of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software for large enterprise customers such as Shell, Lyondell Petrochemicals, Solvay, and Farmland Industries.
Telecommunications
After completing several consulting projects for telecommunications companies, Bill joined Sprint to assist in the development of their web hosting and SAS (Software as a service) business. Bill managed strategic relationships with software companies and systems integrators who developed joint service offerings with Sprint. Bill helped launch Mobility Consulting business units within Sprint that worked with customers to integrate mobile devices and location-based services into their field operations. He also managed pre-sales engineering teams that performed network design for large government and commercial customers. Bill worked as a program manager at Cisco Systems, planning and managing major customer implementation projects and strategic sales efforts.
Scientific Research
Bill worked at MRIGlobal as a program manager, managing both internal and customer projects. Bill managed an upgrade to the Institute’s ERP system, developed new project management standards for Earned Value Management and supported the project management teams on the Institute’s most complex customer engineering projects.
Bill earned his MBA in Management/Finance and BBA in Engineering Management from the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute and has held a Secret Clearance with the U. S. Department of Defense.
