Venture Capital plays an important role in the period in a company’s life when it truly begins to scale and commercialize its innovation.
This investment focuses on building the infrastructure required to grow the business, as wells the validation and advancement of the core innovation. In other words, it’s the investment in a company’s Product(s) and Platform(s) until it reaches a sufficient size and credibility that an exit event takes place.
The TechAccel portfolio includes significant equity investments in agriculture, animal health and food ingredient emerging companies. We work side by side with other venture firms. But we are a little different.
Like traditional Venture Capital, we strive to invest in transformative, entrepreneurial ideas. We look for companies with technologies that fit within our overall investment thesis.
Unlike traditional venture firms, we also bring more than equity dollars. We bring Science Advancement.
Often we focus our science advancement initiatives on R&D in areas of value adjacent to the core of the start-up company – freeing the start-up to stay focused on the core business. Other times our focus expands a start-up’s business into other swim lanes or value-added elements.
We think of this as helping the company get extra shots on goal.
